Embracing diversity and engaging a culture of inclusion within businesses can lead to improved employment outcomes, elimination of barriers, and engaging one's community. Hear the experiences and perceptions of administrators and managers within a large healthcare organization and other businesses and how they removed barriers to employment for individuals with disabilities.
Effects of Competitive Integrated Employment on Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)

Valerie Brooke, , Ms.Despite strong legislation hundreds of thousands of individuals with IDD earn sub-minimum wages and remain in segregated settings.We believe that a major barrier to their participation CIE is the absence of high quality research that tests new interventions and documents the efficacy of interventions leading to pathways to employment. Join us as we share our research agenda and learn how hundreds of people with IDD will evaluate CIE outcomes.
Changing Directions: The Promise of Customized Employment

What started out as a three-year pilot project helping community rehabilitation providers to explore and implement innovative strategies to provide integrated employment for people currently receiving day supports and/or employment in non-integrated environments, has evolved into a statewide customized employment initiative.
Improving Virtual Employment Opportunities for People with Disabilities: An Analysis of the Current Population Survey

Christopher McLaren, PhD, Senior Economist, US Department of Labor Office of Disability Employment PolicyThis session will present new findings from the Current Population Survey Disability Supplement that identifies barriers to employment, use of career assistance programs, and requests for accommodations. We will also present estimates of the number of jobs that can be performed at home for people with and without disabilities, and the prevalence of telework by type of occupation. We will conclude with a discussion about telework and accessibility.

Presenters will share strategies and success stories highlighting how WIPA services have helped beneficiaries navigate Social Security and other benefit programs, avoid pitfalls, and resolve benefit issues. Employment Discovery Network at the Rochester City School District: Second Year Pilot Data

Jeiri Flores, Bachelors , Advocacy Specialist, Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities, UCEDD/LENDThis poster will review data from a second year pilot program that is a partnership between the Rochester City School District (RCSD), and the Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities UCEDD (SCDD). In 2020 this program, the Employment Discovery Network, hosted weekly sessions at RCSD with 18-21 year old students with disabilities who were transitioning from school to employment. The data gathered captured employment service knowledge and employment expectations.
HCBS FINAL RULE- opening doors to competitive, integrated employment opportunities and informed choice

This poster will explore questions like: Does the HCBS participant's supports coordinator have meaningful conversations with them about work? If the HCBS recipient works in a segregated or sheltered work setting, have they been given alternatives?

Student-Driven Internship Development

It is expected that these students learn to make critical decisions about their careers and to communicate with professionals. This presentation will demonstrate how "Inclusive Higher Education (IHE)" practitioners can support students with "Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)" in leading their career exploration as their undergraduate peers do.
Utilizing Virtual Employment Supports: Before, During and After COVID-19
